Her former master decided he would be better off without his dog, and left this poor Poodle homeless and always in search of food in the streets. Fortunately for her, the people living in the area were more than happy to give her some of their scraps, but not a single one of them could get close to the dog, let alone take her home. The dog treated the rescuers the same way upon their arrival, but then after being with her master for so long and then suddenly finding herself alone and without a home, it was to be expected. Regardless, it was a good thing that Hope For Paws received the report regarding the dog’s situation from one of the locals sooner than later.
The team from the Hope For Paws organization finally arrived and found the dog busy chasing another creature — a bird, if you can believe that. Whether she was doing it to eat the bird or if she was just being playful, they didn’t know. They went with their usual approach, which was to use food and hope that the dog’s instinct would get the better of her and eventually come to them. Sadly, though, their target was simply too terrified of people to even consider the idea of going anywhere near them. To add to all the tension in the air, there was a machine nearby that was making so much noise. They did manage to convince her to get away from the machine, though, and when it was just them and dog, she finally did what they’d been hoping for and came to them.
She didn’t approach them to be friends with them though — what she was after was the cheeseburger. Still, it was something that the rescuers could use to their advantage, so they encouraged the behavior. When she got close enough, a rescuer seized the opportunity and fastened the snare around her neck and her reaction was violent and swift. They stopped moving for a moment so that the dog could calm down as well. She had already been secured, and now all she needed was some space so she could breathe. Once she became used to the presence of her rescuers, they carried her to their car, and it was off to HQ. Coco was the name given to her.
