Justin Theroux isn’t only good at acting; he is also known for his animal rescue advocacies. Two years ago, he adopted Kuma, a Pit Bull who survived the Hurricane Harvey two years ago.
Before Justin adopted Kuma, she was in bad shape. The pup was almost bald from mange and was left as a stray after the devastating storm hit Texas.
Volunteers brought Kuma to a rescue center called A Chance To Bloom, where she stayed to recover. That’s where Justin met her, and the rest was history.
Justin is very open about his love for the pup. His Instagram feed proves this — most of his posts, if not all, include Kuma in them. It’s no surprise that he decided to bring the dog with him at the Lady and the Tramp premiere in New York.
In the live-action movie remake, Justin plays the voice behind Tramp — a street dog who would eventually fall for another pup named Lady. Interestingly, the pooch who plays Tramp in the movie is also a rescue dog. His name is Monty.
Like Kuma, Monty used to be a shelter dog until a Hollywood animal trainer discovered him. The production team wanted to promote adoption, so they included as many rescue dogs in the film as possible.
Like every other Hollywood star, Justin and Kuma arrived at the venue in a limousine. The pup even walked on the red carpet with her dad and struck a few poses for the camera.
Justin posted updates on his Instagram account as they entered the cinema. Kuma was thrilled when she saw other dogs in the movie theater. She was even more excited when she heard her dad’s voice coming out of the big screen.
And like any other movie date, Justin brought Kuma to a candlelight dinner after they watched the film. They even recreated the famous spaghetti scene — including the kiss!
It’s always touching to hear stories like this, especially when the initiative comes from famous people like Justin. Watch the video below to see more of this duo’s remarkable bond!
